Higher School in Ukraine: Monitoring of Legal Mechanisms of Functioning (2012-2013)

The project was accomplished by East-Ukrainian Foundation for Social Research in cooperation with the School of Law of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, supported by the International Renaissance Foundation. The scope of the project provided a comprehensive sociological research that helped identify common rights violations of the educational process participants as well as the level of awareness of their rights and responsibilities, and the level of readiness to protect the rights. The reference groups of the study were students, University teachers, experts (representatives of education authorities, university administration officials, lawyers, educators, representatives of human rights organizations). Also during the project implementation a database of rights violations of educators was created as well as free access to it was provided. The project data were summarized into a scientific and practical handbook describing the most widespread rights violations with practical advice how to act in order to protect the rights of educators and resolve legal conflicts.
